March 23, In a major crackdown against drivers involved in violation of traffic rules and regulations, Jammu and Kashmir police seized 39 vehicles and challanded a number of others during a two-hour long drive in Rajouri town.
On the directions of SSP Rajouri, Yougal Manhas, teams of police headed by Additional SP Liyaqit Ali’ DySP Headquarters Govind Rattan, SHO Rajouri Ajaz Haider, SHO Women police station Rajouri, Sushma Thakur and Incharge PP Rajouri city, SI Suresh Sharma laid traffic checking nakas at Gujjar Mandi chowk, Khandli bridge, Salani bridge, old bus stand and workshop bridge respectively.
During this two hours long special drive, 39 two wheelers were seized as the same were found plying on roads with their drivers in violations of rules.
Alongside, 96 vehicle drivers were also chal lanes for different violations of MV Act.
SSP Rajouri Yougal Manhas has appealed guardians and parents of minor children not to allow them to drive vehicles before the prescribed age of 18 years and possess a license issued by motor vehicles department.
