Ankit Kesar, Rajouri,April,18:District Development Commissioner Rajouri Mohammad Aijaz Asad today held a public grievance redressal camp at Siot in which issues and demands pertaining to road connectivity, electricity and water supply, adequate manpower in health and educational institutions, payments under MGNREGA, SBM, creation of rural infrastructure, poor telecommunication services, promotion of tourism, coverage under social welfare and self-employment schemes were raised. Residents of Siot, balshama,Bakhar, Lamberi, Daramsal,channi parat,daroon,marchola ,hathal B town and other areas attended the public meeting and apprised the DDC about problems being faced by them. Specific issues like posting of urdu teacher in schools, adequate funds for smooth functioning of panchayats, compensation for loss of crop during the recent rains, up gradation of High schools to Higher Secondary School, water supply schemes for the areas like channi parat ,provision of drinking water in different schools ,check on the brick kilns and provision of funds under BADP were also put forth by the public.
While assuring the public of timely redressal of issues raised by them, the DDC said numerous initiatives are underway to strengthen the roads, PDD and PHE infrastructure in the area besides ensuring the provision of other amenities of life.
He informed that after commissioning of 50 MVA grid station at Siot and making functional another circuit of 132KV Burn-Siot-Rajouri line will reduce power cuts and address issues of under voltage. The work on the grid station Siot is under progress. He said it will ensure that all left out villages are electrified. Regarding the deputation of Urdu teacher, CEO, Rajouri was instructed on spot to depute Urdu teacher in all schools depending upon the strength.
DDC also assured the general public that he will soon constitute a committee to check the brick kilns that whether they are following the norms or it.He assured for strict action against the defaulters.
DDC also informed that Agriculture and sericulture department will jointly organize a farmer camp at siot to make people aware of the new technology and high yielding seed varieties.
DDC also directed the health authorities to organize medical camps at village level to provide all sorts of certificates to the needy people.
DDC also announced for the establishment of maize mandi a village level with proper selling units.
Regarding the pendency in the pensions and SMAS, DDC assured them that he will soon take up the matter with the higher authorities.
People also apprised DDC that there is large scale death of silkworms in the area.DDC on spot directed the sericulture officer to visits house to house and provide the required medicines.
DDC called upon the public to come forward to avail benefits entailed in various schemes, flagship and pan India programmes of the government. He also enjoined upon the concerned officers to hold awareness camps in this belt to educate them about schemes of the department. People of the area showed gratitude that after a long time DDC conducted public darbar in the area and listened to the grievances of the public
The Darbar was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sunderbani, Vinod Kumar, Chief Agriculture officer, Mohd Younis Choudhary, ExEn PWD Pervaiz, DPO Dr. Abdul Khabir, AD Food and supplies Mukhtar lone, DSWO Naseeb Bajran and other district and tehsil officers.
