##Peace and Harmony-Global Concern seminar organised at GDC MENDHAR, Poonch
Under the Peace Initiatives programme series the sister organisations namely Sangarsh-A civic movement for justice, equality, peace, prosperity and brotherhood; National Progressive Youth Organisation and International Human Development Forum with academic collaboration of Govt. Degree College, Mendhar has organised a special talk on the theme: Peace and Harmony- Global Concern.
Speaking on the occasion Prof. Shabir Hussain Shah, Principal has appealed to the students and teaching community for working together at work places so that the educational institution may be made as the hub of morality and ethics which are essential tool of developing the social and spiritual persoanlity of an individual thereby strengthening the bond of mutual coexistence. He further opined that the schemes launched by government like NSS, NCC, Cultural wings can pave the way in this direction and has urged upon the students to get enroll themselves in these a activities.
Interacting as the key note speaker with the students Vikrant Sharma, Coordinator of Peace Initiatives programme emphasizes on the ‘Cosmic Peace’ which is possible only through human efforts with an motive to serve the mother nature. He opined that by this concern we can also protect our environment and can laid the foundation of better tomorrow for our for generations.
Also, expressing the views Dr. Suresh Kumar, Assistant Director (Research), ICHR, MHRD, Govt. of India and Founder General Secretary of Sangarsh has opined that there is no alternative of peace and harmony and today in this turmoil and unrest situation when the divisive forces are posing threat to peaceful human existence then Peace and Harmony is the only solution which can be achieved through societal, religious and spiritual advancement. The need is to look into the humanitarian teachings taught by our spiritual gurus and to adopt the same in our life so that the foundation of ideal society may be laid down.
Earlier, the students of the college interacted with the speakers on various issues concerning to the main theme of the talk.
