ARMY SPEAR HEADS THE RESCUE WORK AT NAINIKHAD, DALHOUSIE

Jammu: 28 Apr 2019.

A severe road accident occurred at Nainikhad, 20 kilometers South of Dalhousie at approximately 7 PM on 27 Apr 2019, wherein a private bus fell down 100 meters into a gorge after the driver lost control of vehicle. Speedy action by Quick Reaction Teams of Dalhousie Military Station ex Dah Division alongwith Civil Administration enabled saving lives of 25 injured passengers, who were evacuated to nearby hospitals of Kakira, Banikhet & Dalhousie. The Army reached the accident site immediately and rescue operation continued till midnight.

The Army rescue team carried out mustering of locals for rescue work, rope fixing up to the accident site, traffic management, search & evacuation of the injured persons and recovery of fatal casualties. The severity of the accident resulted in loss of lives of 10 passengers..
