RAJOURI, May 13 Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri, Mohammad Aijaz Asad, today convened a meeting to review the progress under Ayushmann Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Program Yojana (PMJAY).

It is pertinent to mention here that Ayushman Bharat scheme is targeted at poor, deprived rural families and occupational category of urban workers and entitles beneficiaries to a defined Health cover of Rs 5 Lakh per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization.

While presenting the achievements Dr. Mahmood Hussain Bajar informed that it has distributed INR 91000 cards among the beneficiaries in the district till date. As far as it concerns a reimbursement, he informed that we reimbursed INR 95100 and 15 cases are still pending for reimbursement.

It was also informed in the meeting that consultants including the team to be incentivized for providing health services to the patients under Ayushman Bharat.
They held a threadbare discussion related to the bottlenecks in the reimbursement process lack of human resource and delay in reimbursement.

Meanwhile, a threadbare discussion was also held regarding the strengthening of the district hospital in a term of infrastructure, operationalization of lift, opening of more registration counters and construction and repair of toilet complexes in the district hospital.Regarding operationalization of lift, DC directed medical superintendent to contact with the agency for its annual maintenance and get it started shortly to facilitate the patients. Meanwhile, as decided in the meeting two days back, additional Medical OPD section shall become operational from tomorrow to deal with the patient rush and to ensure that patients don’t have to wait for hours.

DC also asked the medical superintendent to open five new counters for registration of patients. DDC also advised for the developing of a mobile app. Where a person can register himself/herself for any health check-up and will be given time slot and date for his/her checkup.

DC further said a team will visit the top health institution of the country, AIIMS, PGI Chandigarh, Medanta Medicity, etc. for studying the best practices so that the same can be implemented at District Hospital Rajouri for providing the best possible patient care.
