Jammu and Kashmir police in Rajouri district on Sunday foiled a major bovine smuggling bid in Rajouri and rescued 49 bovines from the possession of smugglers near Rajouri town.
A team of police from Rajouri police station headed by SHO Rajouri Ajaz Haider was on routine morning patrolling in Darhali bridge area near Rajouri town on Sunday early morning when some people were noticed smuggling bovines by foot.
On this, police team swung into action and rescued 49 bovines from the clutches of bovine smugglers.
Bovine smugglers namely Mohammad Farooq son of Mohammad Ramzan resident of Plangarh, Liaqat Ali son of Talib Hussain resident of Gagrote Khawas and Talib Hussain son of Bagh Ali resident of Tata Pani have been arrested.
In this connection a case FIR no 284/2019 under sections 188/295A RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered in Rajouri police station.
