*District Police Office Rajouri* *17 bovines rescued from truck*

Jammu and Kashmir police foiled a bovine smuggling bid at Thanamandi and rescued 17 bovines from the possession of smugglers who were smuggling these animals in a truck.

A team of police from Thanamandi headed by SHO Javed Malik was on routine naka checking during the night hours when a truck JK02AP 6729 was intercepted near Thanamandi town.

During checking, seventeen animals were found loaded in the truck and were rescued.

Driver of truck Zaffar Iqbal son of Mohd Shafi resident of Kewal Budhal and Mohammad Shafi son of Kanga resident of Kotranka have been arrested while a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Thanamandi police station.
