Jammu and Kashmir police in Rajouri district rescued 21 bovine animals and seized three vehicles.
A team of police headed by station house officer Nowshera intercepted a tata mobile JK11 A 2849 at Daber Nowshera road and during frisking of vehicle, 08 bovines were found loaded.
All the bovines were rescued from the spot and vehicle seized while the driver smuggler identified as Mohammad Shabir son of Ghulam Hussain resident of Hasplote Thanamandi was arrested on spot.
Another team of police headed by SHO Thanamandi, Javed Malik was on naka checking when a vehicle tata mobile JK11A 0485 was intercepted at naka point.
The driver of the vehicle identifies as Arslan Mustafa son of Abdul Qayoom resident of Ujhaan Darhal was arrested on the spot as vehicle was founded loaded with 06 bovine animals.
During another Naka, police team from Thanamandi intercepted a mini truck JK11- 9185 which was being driven by Mohammad Junaid son of Mohanmad Bashir resident of Kote Behrote Thanamandi.
On being checked, vehicle was found loaded with 07 bovine animals which were rescued and accused arrested on the spot.
Police have registered cases under relevant sections of law against all these bovine smuggling attempts.
