JKNC Mendhar has started a Campaign under the banner “to go back to public” and asked them to get united in the general interest of the state and to safeguard special status of the J & K vis-à-vis Article 370 & 35A and Delimitation exercise. While addressing a series of public meeting in border belt of sub-division sub-division Mendhar in Tain Mankote area, Mr Javed Ahmed Rana, Central Secretary JKNC, former Deputy Chairman Legislative Council and former MLA, “discussed the strategies for safeguarding the status of Article 370 & 35A and raised a concern on sobriquet terms like delimitation, which BJP and its associated cronies are planning to fiddle for their vested interests”. “With consent of all party members and public support, it was decided that a massive campaign will be launched in Pir-Panjal region”, Mr Rana warned.
Launching a scathing attack on BJP, Mr Rana said on a serious note said that “no tempering or amendment to these articles will be accepted or allowed under any circumstances”. “Since the dawn of Lok Sabha Elections 2019, BJP has hoodwinked the innocent people of this state, particularly hindu sect for electoral chase and have been successful to divert the mind of people from their failures like providing employment, political discourse, rural distress, sluggish economy, proper implementation of schemes related to power / roads / infrastructure etc”, alleged Mr Rana. “Using sobriquet terms like delimitation is derogatory keeping in view the distinct cultural, social and demographic identity of state”, he said in anguish. “How can a party, based on hindutva ideology boost of maintaining communal harmony in the state? When in reality the minorities in other parts of the country are living under threat & fear”, he added further.
“Instead of working on actual mandate of the people of nation and mitigating major problems, the lust & greed for power, is quite apparent”, Mr Rana said. “Through dictatorial policies and draconian laws, one can’t expect peace, harmony and secular integrity, which our state is craving for past 5 years”, Mr Rana expressed with dismay. Hitting out at BJP, Mr Rana said “as far as Article 370 & 35A are concerned we are clear on our stand and if Delimitation commission is exercised then it should apply to whole nation”. Parallely, Mr Rana informed that “If we look keenly at the ratio of percentage population and area of Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh, a lot of discrepancy exists, as there is no collinear relation between these two parameters among the three regions”. In a surprising gesture, Mr Rana said “Right Wing is confused or has not studied the basic rules of exercising delimitation wherein it is clearly mentioned that both the parameters (population & area) are accountable”.
“Due to lack of state government, BJP is trying to take opportunity of the situation so that they can succeed in their nefarious designs (i.e., Divide and Rule) for their vested geo-political interests”, Mr Rana warned. On a serious note Mr Rana said “neither Prime Minister nor the Parliament of India can unilaterally redraw constituencies of the state or declare it without taking consent of the state”. “We have our own democratic set-up and no one has authority to challenge its foundation, and its ramifications will invite administrative chaos, non-cooperation and outrageousness among people”, Mr Rana asserted. “JKNC will fight till last breath to like a warrior against anyone who tries to sabotage the special status, unity & integrity of the state for mere”, Mr Rana said in a loud tone.
“Now that the BJP has come to power again under the leadership of Hon’able Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi ji, it is a rare opportunity for them to introduce structural reforms for reviving the moribund economy, combat corruption and focus on long-lasting transformations with little partisan logjams”, Mr Rana advised. “We welcome any move for sustainable social and economic development of the state but not at the cost of utters hypocrisy that breaches the spirit of our constitution”, Mr Rana added vehemently.
