Rajouri,June,22:- Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Mohammad Aijaz Asad today visited katarmal Panchayat during the Back2village programme.The ambitious and unique Back2village programme inaugurated on 20th of June and will culminate on the 27th of the June.In district Rajouri the programme has been divided into four phases and today is the first day of the 2nd phase .The 2nd phase involves 80 panchayats.
During the visit the DDC interacted with public sarpanches panches ,senior citizens who apprised him about the issues confronting them.DDC also interacted with the visiting officers and held deliberate discussion with the visiting officers and with the general public.
While speaking on the occasion DDC said that the main objective of organising Back2college programme is to get first hand appraisal of the public grievances across the state,the other objective is to strengthen the Panchayt Raj institution,so that the concept of Participatory planning can be established in reality.He appealed the public that they should cooperate with the visiting officer and raise only genuine demands that are community based setting aside self interest.
He also assured that their genuine demands have been noted by the visiting officers for onward submission to the higher authorities.Moreover DDC also informed that numerous initiatives are underway in respect of water and Power supply augmentation.
Moreover on his way back DDC also visited the family of the deceased Mohd Gafoor who lost his life along with his 10 month old son Adil Hussain in a tragic house collapse incident at kalakote on thursday.The DDC handed over cheques of Rs. 2 lakh as an immediate ex gratia relief to the family members of two deceased.
During his visit, DDC talked to the family members and said that every possible help would be extended to them from District Administration Rajouri.
It is pertinent to mention here that the incident happened Thursday in kalakote in which three people died and four other got injured.out of the three people who died two Adil Hussain S/o Mohd Gafoor and Mohd Gafoor S/o of Mohd Shabeer belonged to katarmal village of Manjakote.A total of ₹ 3.00 lacs has been sanctioned by the DDC yesterday and amount stands disbursed to the victims family including one lakh to the family of deceased Tehreez Ahmed and Two lakhs to the family of deceased Gafoor Ahmed.
Numerous deputation also met DDC and raised number of issues like provision of play field in the panchayat,digging of hand pumps as the area is without tapped water supply, upgradation of schools and sanctioning of the Anganwadi centres for the Panchayat.
Replying to the issues raised by the deputations ,regarding the provision of hand pump DDC assured them that after studying the water table of the area, concerned ground water department will start the work within three days, regarding the construction of play field DDC asked the Assistant Commissioner Development to immediately start the work on the identified land in consultation with the public.Regarding the water supply scheme DDC enquired the problem from officers of the PHE department and resolved it on the spot.
The DDC was accompanied by the Assistant Commissioner Development ,Rajouri Akhtar Qazi,District Panchayat Officer,Abdul Khabir,EXN PWD,PHE, Tehsildar Manjakote ,BDO manjakote and other staff of revenue and RDD.
