JAMMU: NCC Cadets of Jammu Kashmir & Ladakh Directorate have offered a helping hand in country’s fight against COVID-19 by extending their services under Exercise NCC Yogdaan.
The cadets of Jammu region extended relief efforts by distribution of relief material and rations. Senior Division volunteer cadets were employed in Narwal area in a cohesive group under supervision of Instructors and Associate NCC Officers. All these volunteer cadets had undergone COVID 19 Training for NCC Cadets offered by IGOT under Department of Personnel & Training. The training module included methodology and guidelines to be followed during employment of NCC Cadets in distribution of relief material, food, medicines and other essential commodities. The event of distribution of relief material\ ration was coordinated at Group Headquarter level along with Civil Authorities under the aegis of NCC Directorate JK&L. Major General N K Airy, Additional Director General JK&L Directorate and other officers were also present during the event. All the guidelines issued by GOI with respect to safety and security of cadets were strictly followed. NCC is the largest uniformed Youth organization of the country and has been engaged in conducting Social Service and Community development activities. JK&L Directorate has always been forthwith in all these activities and would continue to extend assistance in fighting this pandemic.
