BOVINE SMUGGLING BID FOILED BY KATHUA POLICE ;13 BOVINE ANIMALS RESCUED

In continuation to strict measures to thwart conspiracies of bovine smugglers,a team of Police Station Lakhanpur succeeded in foiling bovine smuggling bid and rescued 13 bovine animals and seized the truck involved.

Today on 21.05.2020 A team of P/S Lakhanpur while on naka checking duty at Bi-pass road Lakhanpur. Police party signaled a truck to stop bearing Registration No. JK02X-0951, coming from Punjab towards Jammu. The driver of the truck stop the truck away from the naka point and fled away from the stop.During checking of the vehicle, 13 bovine animals were found loaded in the vehicle in a cruel manner.
A case FIR No. 44/2020 U/S 188, IPC 11 PCA Act has been registered at P/S Lakhanpur and further investigation is going on.

Police busted a gang of interstate drug smuggler, recovers 1430 kg of Poppy Straw (Bhukki) from Jhajjar kotli

Jammu , 21 May : Continuing its drive against drug menace under the supervision of SSP Shri Shridhar Patil (IPS) and SP Rural Suram Singh Jhajjar kotli Police achieved a major success when it thwarted the plot of the drug smugglers of smuggling huge consignment of Poppy Straw from Kashmir to other parts of the country.
Police arrested drug peddler at Suketar Nakka and recovered huge quantity of poppy straw.

As per police officials a police Nakka led by SDPO Nagrota Mohan lal Sharma along with SHO Jhajjar kotli Rajesh Khajuria and PSI Rajat Magotra while on routine checking at Suketar Nakka signalled the driver of the truck bearing registration no. PB35N/9367 to stop his truck few meters before the naka point but the driver tried to escape from the spot. After a hot chase police managed to arrest the driver of the vehicle.

The driver of the truck was identified as Sanjeev Kumar s/o Tara Singh r/o Tajpur , jallandhar, Punjab.

On checking, 1430 kgs of poppy straw was recovered which was hidden in apple boxes in the the truck.

In relation to this, FIR no.95/2020 u/s 8/15/25NDPS Act has been registered at PS Jhajjar kotli and further investigation taken up.

Police has requested Community members to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace as reiterated in our community meetings,” police officials added.

Today ,21May, on national anti terrorism day, a pledge has been administered under the command of Sh S D Singh IPS IGP Security/SSG/Director SKPAU at SSG Hqrs. All officers/officials of Security and SSG were participated in function. They took pledge to fight against terrorism of any form and keep the national values of non violence, coexistence, brother hood and integrity of country before self. Sh. S S Kotwal SSP Security, Sh. Z N Manhas SSP SSG, Sh R S Sambyal SSP Security(Tech), SSP Ashok Sharma CO 4th Sec. SSP Rohit Baskotra, SSP R P Singh, SSP Zulfikar Azad, SP Zulfikar Shaheen and SP Noor Mohd attended the ceremony. Two minute of silence has been observed in honour to mark the respect to all security personnel who lost their lives while fighting terrorism.
