Set up high level committee to compensate old appointees: Ghulam Hassan Mir

SRINAGAR, June 16: Extending gratitude to the union home minister and lieutenant governor of J&K for nullifying the clauses of #SRO202 mentioned in new recruitment rules, Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) on Tuesday urged the government to set-up a high level committee to undo the injustices committed by the previous governments and compensate the employees already recruited under the contentious SRO during last five years.

Reacting to the decision on SRO-202 vis-à-vis new recruitment policy and reducing the probation period from five to two years for old appointees in J&K, Ghulam Hassan Mir, senior leader of #JKAP stressed on the government to do justice with the employees who were recruited by the government from time to time since 2015 under the obsolete SRO.

“Doing away with applicability of SRO 202 in new recruitment policy notified by the J&K government recently is a big achievement for the people especially the job aspiring youth who were about to bear the brunt of this unconstitutional SRO. JKAP lauds intervention of union home minster and Lieutenant Governor G.C Murmu who took serious cognizance of our demand and removed the inequality in recruitment rules,” he added.

He said the new recruitment rules for Class-IV jobs notified by the J&K government were completely prejudicial in nature and have been now modified in accordance with the standard rules governing the recruitment processes across the country.

“The government should take a decision on increments payable government employees who are governed by the SRO 202 in order to undo the wrongs and injustices perpetrated during the last five years,” Mir demanded.

He demanded those employees who have completed two years of probation on the date of the promulgation of Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act 2019 should be regularized forthwith and the cases of those employees who will be completing two years of probation on any future date should be taken up for such consideration as per the recommendations of the Hanjura Law Commission.

“Our party is firm in its resolve to work for the welfare of employees and unemployed youth who aspire for a dignified livelihood. In order to address the alarming unemployment in J&K, JKAP urges the government to go for a fast track recruitment process to fill all available posts in the government sector,” Mir observed.
