Jammu:

A ‘history sheeter’ was attacked by some unidentified persons late last night in Gandhi Nagar area here, police said on Sunday.

“One Kalu, of Gorkha Nagar, who himself is a ‘history sheeter’, was attacked with sharp-edged weapons by some unidentified persons in Gandhi Nagar area opposite Bahu Plaza late on Sunday night,” Deepak Dogra, Superintendent of Police, South Jammu here said on Sunday.

He said that the victim as per reports was released from jail a few months ago, adding, “he has also a criminal background and we are apprehending some rivalry behind the attack.”

“We are on job and trying to get information out of the footages from the CCTVs installed at different locations near the scene of the crime,” he added.

A critically injured person in the attack has been hospitalised, police added.
