
J&K Police Continuing its War against Drugs, 625 kilogram of Poppy Straw recovered at NH ‘
NAGROTA, 10 JULY: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Nagrota police achieved a major success by recovering huge quantity of Poppy Straw which was being illegally smuggled in a truck at National Highway.
According to the police officials a police party led by SHO, Jhajjar kotli Rajesh Khajuria during checking intercepted a truck bearing registeration no HR61B/2324 at Suketar area of Jhajjar Kotli and recovered 25 bags of poppy straw (bhukki) weighing 625 kg from the truck.
The driver of the truck identified as Sukhvinder Singh singh s/o late Amar Singh R/o Alamgiri, Ludhiana Punjab was arrested on spot and truck was seized.
In relation to this, FIR No.124/2020 u/s 8/15 /25 NDPS has been registered in PS Jhajjar kotli, and further investigation is underway.
Police has requested for support and cooperation from general public to curb the drug menace.
