The Anti Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) of Jammu and Kashmir police, specialised unit to check rising menace of drugs peddling in Jammu and Kashmir, achieved another success on Friday after it foiled a bid to smuggle Charas in Jammu city and nabbed three peddlers alongwith seven kilograms of Charas powder.

In its official statement, ANTF Jammu said that unit received a specific information that a drugs smuggling bid is being attempted
at transport yard Narwal where a truck bearing registration number JK03G 3911 has been parked by the drug peddlers who have come from Kashmir.

On revieving this information, ANTF team swung into action and started search operation in transport yard.

” The team tasked in search successfully located the truck and three persons were nabbed from the spot who have been identified as Fayaz Ahmed Ganai son of Ghulam Hassan Ganai resident of Hasanpura Brijbehara, Danish Shafi son of Mohammad Shafi Ganai resident of Allai Mohallah Hasanpura Brijbehara and Sonu son of Krishan Lal resident of Chand Nagar, Jammu.” ANTF press note further reads.

During search, of 7 kilograms of Charas was recovered from the spot which was brought from Kashmir by two peddlers and they were set to handover the consignment to the Jammu based peddlers.

ANTF has been able to break this drug cartel which was the main supplier of Charas to the innocent youths of Jammu who were falling trap to drug addiction.

All the three persons have been arrested and truck has been seized and a case has been registered under relevant sections of law and ANTF is investigating further links.

It is pertinent to mention here that since its inception, ANTF, a recently created specialised wing of Crime Branch, has been able make successes in Anti Narcotic Operations and made big recoveries of narcotics back to back.
