Jammu: On 29-08-2020, a report was lodged in P/S Kahna Chak by a minor girl (identity undisclosed) R/O Purkhoo Tehsil Bhalwal. Girl told to police that she was called by a person namely Suraj Singh S/O Prem Singh R/O Rattan Pur, Tehsil Jourian Distt. Jammu, who called her to neighbour’s house. On reaching there, she was mistreated and forcibly raped by the said person.
• On this, medical examination of the victim was conducted from Govt. Hospital Sarwal and a case FIR no.138/2020 U/S 376 IPC 4 Pocso Act was registered at P/S Kahna Chak.
• After this, two different teams of P/S Kahna Chak were constituted for the search/arrest of the accused person. Police followed up the leads of the case and after hectic efforts by the police teams, accused was finally arrested from Akhnoor area.
Further investigation of the case is going on.
