While talking with the correspondent, Locals told that the polling station for resident of ward no.1,2 and 4 i.e goverment primary school harmutta (ward no. 4) now has been shifted to goverment primary school hajama (ward no 7) Which is about two kilometer away from old polling station further it is not suitable for people to caste votes easily and smootly.
They said from the last fifty (50) years we are continuously casting our votes in the old polling station but now we will not accept the new one, shifting of polling station is unjustified a local said.
advocate ghulam rasool a local said that despite written representation to the authority concerned but not action has been taken yet.
He further said people had been demanding that their new polling stations must be shifted to the old location, but officials yet failed to look into their demand which becomes a matter of great concern despite the that fact that we have timely intimated to election commission poonch dated 20.11.20.
Adv.ghulam rasool said that population of 1, 2, 4 wards is more than five hundreds but ward no 7 has a total population of near about hundred twenty (120) which shows that some wrong information is submitted by employees of Rural development department (RDD) regarding the polling station and action must be taken against these employees of RDD.
He appealed Deputy commissioner poonch rahul kumar yadav (IAS) to look into the matter and ensure shifting of the new polling station to previous location in the larger interest of residents ward no 1,2 and 4.
