Poonch: On the basis of information a joint naka of Mendhar Police and army unit of 19 Kamaun under the supervision of SDPO Mendhar Zaheer Abbas Jafri-KPS was established In Basooni area of Mendher.During naka checking one person namely Mohammad Maroof S/o Mohammad Amin R/o Dabbi age about 23years was intercepted and during frisking one 800 gms packet of Narcotics(Heroin like Substance) recovered from his possession.
In this regard FIR No.19/2021 U/s 8/21/22 NDPS has been Lodged in P/S Mendhar and the accused is arrested by the police The possibility of consignment being smuggled from across the LOC cannot be ruled out .
Investigation is going on to ascertain the backward and forward linkages.
This is the second major recovery of Narcotics in last few days by Mendhar Police and security forces.
People of the area have appreciated role of police in successfully conducting of anti narcotic operations to save the future generation from this menace ,maintaining law and order ,creating peaceful atmosphere in the area and serving all walks of society in mendhar subdivision under the Supervision of SDPO Mendhar Z.A.Jafri .
