Encounter breaks out in South Kashmir’s Anantnag

Agunfight broke out between terrorists and security forces in Shalgul forest in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday.

As per initial reports, a joint team of Jammu and Kashmir Police, Army’s 3RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Shalgul forest on Wednesday morning.

As the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding terrorists fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight. “Encounter started at Shalgul forest area of Srigufwara in Anantnag. Security forces are on the job,” said a police official.

As per sources, two to three terrorists are believed to be trapped.
