DG Prisons VK Singh felicitates women achivers on International Womens Day

J&K Legal Service Authority, District Legal Services Authority, Jammu in collaboration with Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan , Jammu Region celebrated International Women’s Day 2021 in the premises of Kendriya Vidyalaya GC CRPF Bantalab Jammu with great zeal and gusto. The theme of International Women’s day this year was” WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP ACHIEVING AN EQUAL FUTURE IN A COVID- 19 WORLD”. Sh V. K.Singh, IPS- Director General of Police, Prisons, J&K was the Chief Guest on the occasion and Dr D. Manjunath, Deputy Commissioner, KVS Jammu Region was the Guest of honour at the event. Smt. Vijaya Singh wife of Sh. V.K. Singh IPS had given her kind consent to be the Special Invitee & to gave away the mementoes.Sh. Sanjeev Gupta, Principal (District and Session) Judge and chairman, DLSA Jammu, Ms. Bala Jyoti, HJS( D&L Judge) Judicial Member, J&K Special Tribunal and Sh. Rajinder Prasad, Deputy Inspector General, GC CRPF Bantalab were the special guests. The chief organizers of the programme were Mr. Suraj Prasad, Principal Kendriya Vidyalaya, Bantalab, GC, CRPF, Jammu and Mr Naushad Ahmed Khan, D&S Judge, Secretary DLSA JammuThe programme started with  traditional lighting of  lamp by the Chief Guest and other dignitaries amidst the chanting of shlokas. A euphonious and melodious welcome song was sung by the students of KV GC CRPF Bantalab. The programme was followed by adorning the dignitaries with badges and then, plants were presented to chief dignitaries. After the formal welcome address by Sh. Suraj Prasad, Principal Kendriya Vidyalaya GC CRPF Bantalab, all dignitaries were honoured by offering them a token of love and gratitude. Sh. Naushad Ahmed Khan, District and Session Judge, Secretary DLSA Jammu in his introductory note highlighted the importance of education and inspired all the women to keep excelling consistently. Then a powerful and motivating speech was delivered by Sh. Rajendra Prasad in which he appreciated the frontline women workers and women corona warriors. Thereafter, DR. D. Manjunath addressed the guests and encouraged and also applauded the women dignitaries for their magnificent work in every field. Further, Ms Bala Jyoti congratulated everyone on the occasion and delivered an enthusiastic speech. Thereafter, Sh. Sanjeev Gupta graced the occasion with his incentive words and stimulated the young girls to do something exceptional in their lives. On the occasion, DGP Prisons, J&K- V.K. Singh, IPS said that Women’s Day is celebrated every year on March 8 to celebrate the achievements of women. Moreover, this celebration is a sign of appreciation, respect and love towards women in our lives and those who have contributed significantly to the welfare of the country despite rigid stereotypes. He said that it is the time for women to come out strong and powerful by recognising their full potential, empowering each other and challenging the biases in the society so as to build an inclusive world. He emphasised that as individuals it is our responsibility to ensure equal opportunities for women and their equal treatment in all matters. V. K Singh appreciated the organisers for celebrating the International Women’s Day-2021 among students. He appreciated the front line women workers and women corona warriors who worked tirelessly during the COVID-19 pandemic. He congratulated the women who were honoured on the occasion and hoped they will continue to inspire other women to attain their full potential and contribute towards the development of our Country.The programme was well coordinated by Ms.Ankita ,TGT (Hindi ) and Ms. Minakshi Talwar,PGT,(English) of KV GC CRPF Bantalab. Later, Smt. Surekha Bakshi, PGT Hindi Kendriya Vidyalaya GC CRPF Bantalab proposed vote of thanks. The programme was concluded with National Anthem in which everyone participated. Inmates of District Jail Jammu presented a cultural programme ‘Jammu Central’ during the event in which  inmates Mohd Yaqoob, Shivani Gupta and Manisha Devi performed besides SI Mushtaq Ahmed, SPO Amir and professional singer Shreya Gandral. They performances included various bollywood classics, sufi songs and popular numbers and received thunderous applause from the audiences and were highly appreciated.
