Three stuck in snow bound areas rescued

Two persons stuck at Sadhna Pass were rescued in a daredevil rescue operation launched today by the Army while one civilian was rescued by Beacon team of GREF from Kupwara-Keran Road.
At 8 in the evening, Army authorities were informed by the locals that two civilians were stuck in a vehicle towards Chowkibal ahead of Sadhna Pass. In response to that, the Avalanche Rescue Team (ART) of Sadhna Pass immediately swung into action amidst heavy snow and rescued those stuck from Muhree Nala. Both the individuals were housed at Sadhna Pass and were provided basic amenities for the night.
Meanwhile, a truck driver today had an astounding escape after he was mowed down by a snow mound along Kupwara-Keran road. The incident was witnessed by a team of Beacon personnel who subsequently launched a swift operation to rescue the trucker.
Beacon officials of 109 RCC said that the incident took place around the afternoon when a team was clearing the road near Water Point at Farkian Top on the road. The officials said that when the team saw it happening, they rushed to the spot, and after hours of efforts, they were able to pull the driver out. The driver is said that to be fine with no injuries at all.
