State President of Hindustan Shiv Sena Vikrant Kapoor strongly criticized the government’s decision to impose property tax in the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory. He also said that Hindustan Shiv Sena will strongly oppose the privatization of electricity. Expressing deep concern over the rising prices of petrol, diesel and LPG he further said that there is no provision of toll plazas in the Union Territory but the government has established many toll plazas in Jammu and has burdened the people under the heavy taxes.State President of Hindustan Shiv Sena Vikrant Kapoor said this while addressing a press conference in Jammu. He said that the employment and business of the people of this terror-stricken State has been badly affected. On the other hand, the long-term shutdown and restrictions imposed by the government after August 5, 2019 and the lockdown during the Corona epidemic have also severely affected the business. In such a situation, imposing the taxes on people one by one cannot be justified in any way.He further said that due to Corona epidemic, the business was completely closed and a large number of people remained unemployed. In such a situation, many States are considering giving relief to the people by exempting and reducing the previously implemented taxes. But on the contrary, Jammu and Kashmir government is levying taxes one by one to make the people financially weak. He said that in the present situation, when people need to be given financial relief, in such a situation, imposing property tax is gross injustice and irrational. He also lashed out at the government for the privatization of electricity, saying that the Hindustan Shiv Sena would not accept it at all and it would be strongly opposed. Apart from this, he also expressed deep concern over the establishment of toll plaza’s in Jammu and said that there is no provision of toll plaza anywhere in UT, so why it is in the case of Jammu and Kashmir UT. He also asked Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha to explain the position to the people in this matter. He said that the decision of the Central Government to abolish Art. 370 and 35A was welcomed by the people of Jammu with the hope that they will get freedom from the discrimination that has been meted for the last seven decades. But since the formation of UT, the patriotic people of Jammu have been taxed one after the other, which is really condemnable. He said that the Govt. established the barrier at the Lakhanpur Gateway due to which the general public and passengers and vehicles coming from various places in India had to wait for hours, causing them great hardships. He also demanded the immediate removal of this barrier. He said that the government is also levying 9 percent tax on new vehicles. Apart from this, vehicles purchased from outside the state are being asked to re-register and pay taxes, which is condemnable. He said that the bureaucracy is doing new experiments one after the other in Jammu and Kashmir And is suppressing people. Vikrant Kapoor said that Hindustan Shiv Sena will not accept it at all and it will be strongly opposed. He urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to understand the seriousness of these issues and intervene in this matter and to rethink over it  to give relief to the people in these matters. He has warned that if the government does not immediately resolve these issues including withdrawal of the property tax, then Hindustan Shiv Sena will start a big agitation against it and the government will be fully responsible for the situation arising from it. He also alleged that the present government wants to create the 2008 like situation in Jammu when the people of Jammu forced the government to bow down.Senior leaders of Hindustan Shiv Sena Bhawa Ram kaith, vikram jeet ,Sunil Dabagotra, Abhishek, Himanshu, Amit, women unit leaders Sapna Kohli, Neelam Raina and others were also present during the press conference.
