Process of KPs’ return to valley has begun: Ashok Kaul

Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ashok Kaul Tuesday asserted that Kashmiri Pandits have started returning to the Valley following improvement in situation on the ground.
BJP leader said there are no security related issues as far as the return of Kashmiri migrant Pandits is concerned. He said the situation has improved a lot in Jammu and Kashmir following which many Pandit families have returned to their homeland.
“I met many KP families and visited few temples in Srinagar as well. A good number of Pandits participated in religious rituals on the occasion of Navreh. I think the process of KPs’ return to their motherland has begun,” Kaul told reporters on the sidelines of a Navreh function at Sheetalnath temple here.
Brushing aside security concerns, Kaul said KPs living in the Valley do not face any threat as the situation in Jammu and Kashmir has improved a lot. He said the atmosphere is conducive for their return and that the government is also making efforts for their safe return.
“As I already said there is significant improvement in situation and there is no security issue at all. We welcome those who wish to return. Those who already live in Kashmir do not face any threat at all,” Kaul added.
He also urged the administration to retrieve Pandit properties which he said were “illegally encroached upon by and the government itself”.
