Covid-19 impact: Admin Gives Big Relief To People

LG Administration of Ladakh has extended the validity of various documents such as driving license, registration certificate, vehicle fitness, vehicle permit etc upto June 30, 2021 and also exempted the late fees on renewal of these documents until June 30, 2021, keeping in view the COVID -19 pandemic.

This has been done by the UT Administration to give succor to the public in general and transporters in particular in the difficult times of the Covid pandemic, when it has become difficult to get the documents renewed due to lockdown and also when transporters have lost considerable business.

The UT Administration has also waived off late fee for the renewal of regular permits for vehicles which could not renew their permits between Oct 31, 2019 to Feb 1, 2020 due to technical issues soon after the forming of UT of Ladakh. In addition, fees for temporary permits for the transporters of Ladakh has also been exempted for the FY 21-22 March.

“This decision of the administration to exempt late fee on renewal of documents and fees and issuance of temporary permit will benefit around 8000 beneficiaries in Ladakh,” informed the Regional Transport Officer, Ladakh, Tsering Paldan.
