One killed, another injured after lorry hits scooty

A scooty rider was killed and his pillion mate injured after they were hit by a lorry near Achabal area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday.

The accident took place on Sopore-Ladoora road when the duo travelling on a scooty were hit by a tipper coming from the opposite direction, leaving them seriously injured.

The duo, identified as Tariq Ahmad Pathan of Binner Baramulla and Nisar Ahmad Ganai, were rushed to a nearby hospital where Tariq succumbed.

A police official said a case has been registered in this regard.
