J&K: Man secures Rs 28 lakh housing loan using ‘fake documents, stamps’

Jammu and Kashmir police have registered a case against a man who secured a Rs 28-lakh housing loan from Jammu and Kashmir bank using “fake” documents and stamps in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

“The matter is being investigated whether the cheater is doing this first time or he has been doing the same in past,” an official said.

The accused has mortgaged the land of Haji Bashir Ahmed even without informing him about the same.

He identified the accused man as Mukhtar Ahmed Lone of Bugroo Khansahb, husband of a DDC member adding that the bank has already transferred an amount of Rs 15 lakh to a personal account of the man. Add SSP Budgam also confirm to KNO about the incident
