Kathua police foils bovine smuggling bid

Kathua police today foiled another bovine smuggling attempt at Lakhanpur after rescuing 16 animals.

In continuation to take tough action and to check the illegal activities of bovine smugglers Kathua Police under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua Sh. R C Kotwal JKPS today rescued 16 bovines.

Police said a team led by Inspector, Sumeet Sharma SHO P/S Lakhanpur under the supervision Dy.SP DAR Kathua Sh. Sukhdev Singh noticed one closed body Truck bearing registration No. HR58A/4027 being driven by driver name not know stopped for checking. During checking 16 Bovines i.e 08 Cows & 08 Oxen rescued which were loaded in the said truck . Thereafter all the bovines were rescued and Truck seized. Driver fled away after parking the truck few distance away from naka point. On this a case FIR No. 83/2021 U/S 188 IPC, 11PCAAct has been registered at Police Station Lakhanpur. Further investigation going on. Local of the area appreciated the work of Kathua Police.
