J&K DGP sanctions Rs 75 lakh welfare relief in favour of NoK of deceased PP, SPOs

Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh sanctioned Rs 75 lakh in favour of legal heirs of those Police Personnel (PP) and Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir who expired while in service.

A police spokesman said that the Special Welfare Relief of Rs 20 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of dependents and legal heirs of the deceased Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Abdul Gani Bhat, Constable (Ct) Ashraf Hussain and follower Ashwani Kumar who expired while in service.

He said out of this amount Rs one lakh has already been paid to Next of Kin (NoK) of deceased PP for performing last rites.

He said the financial assistance has been given out o the Contributory Police Welfare Fund.

Mr Singh also sanctioned special relief of Rs 5 lakh in favour of dependents of deceased SPOs Balbir Raj, Imtiyaz Ahamd Bhat and Babal Singh who passed away during the course of their engagement in the department. The financial assistance has been given out of the contributory welfare fund of SPOs.
