J&K RTO issues Advisory for vehicle owners: Details Inside

On Thursday, the office of the Regional Transport Jammu said that High-Security Registration number plates are mandatory in all vehicles plying on roads, and the violators will be dealt with sternly.

In a notice Issued, the RTO said that the general public/owners of the motor vehicles are informed that the J&K Motor Vehicles Department, in compliance with the directors of the Supreme Court, has issued a circular whereby the use of HSRP in all motor vehicles made mandatory, and the vehicle owners have to affix the same in their respective vehicles by or before September 16, 2017.

However, it has been observed that some vehicles are still plying on the road without affixing mandatory HSRP and are, therefore, violating the orders of the Supreme Court.

“Accordingly, it is reiterated that owners of all the vehicles shall ensure affixation of HSRP in their vehicles from authorized vendors stationed at RTO office and at all other ARTO before or by September 16, 2021”, the notice reads.

It further said that any default shall be treated as a willful violation by the concerned vehicle owner and dealt with accordingly.
