16 Members of Police Band Injured in Road Accident

Sixteen members of the Jammu and Kashmir Police band were injured in a collision between a truck and a minibus at Bateda Kanachak on the outskirts of the city. The injured were admitted to the hospital for treatment. Doctors say that most of the injured were discharged after first aid. A case was registered at Kanachak police station, and an investigation was started into the cause of the accident.

The accident happened around midnight on Wednesday. The members of the police band were boarding a minibus from Akhnoor to Jammu after attending an event organized at the residence of a police officer in Akhnoor. As soon as his minibus reached Batada on Jammu Poonch National Highway, the minibus collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction. The blow was so decisive that all the 16 police personnel sitting in the minibus were injured. Kanachak police reached the spot as soon as the accident was reported. With the help of passers-by, all the injured police personnel were admitted to the hospital for treatment. SHO Kanachak Vishwa Pratap Singh said that the condition of all the police personnel injured in the accident is out of danger.
