MENDHAR:As part of youth engagement and in line with the Fit India campaign, under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsava initiative, Romeo Force of Indian Army conducted Shaheed Naib Subedar Ajit Singh, SC Rural Sports Mela in Mendhar under Op Sadbhavna from 18 Jan – 27 Jan 22 in Mendhar. A total of seven sports which are played in Rural areas were conducted.
Volleyball,Kabaddi, Kho Kho, Pagdi tying, Baju Pakarna, Boulder lifting and Tug of war. The event provided opportunity to the youth of the area to showcase their talent and to remain physically active in these unprecedented times of Covid -19.
SDM,Mendhar Dr Sahil Jandyal feleciated the winners to encourage and motivate them. Local populace appreciated the efforts of Indian Army in organising such events and joining youth to mainstream.
