Mendhar: Continuing its drive against illegal mining, the police today seized five vehicles involved in mining activity in Mendhar Tehsil of Poonch district.
Official sources said that action has been taken by police teams of Police Station Mendhar which were constituted under the supervision of SDPO Mendhar Sheezan Bhatt. The team led by SHO PS Mendhar Inspr Manzoor Kohli along with PSI Prince Jasrotia special nakas at Sakhi Maidan Area. During checking Three tipeer and two tractor trolleys were seized which were involved in illegal mining.
In order to strictly implement the drive against illegal mining and to tighten noose around the violators Police has initiated strict action. Seized vehicles were later handed over to G&M Deptt for further action. Taking action, the department imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 on the drivers who were seized.
