Poonch: To celebrate the World Environment Day 2022, Govt Model Girls Hr Sec School Mendhar organised a symposium.
Principal of the institution Zulfiqar Naqvi presided over the function whereas Horticulture Development Officer Mendhar Mohd Rafiq Chowdhary was the Chief Guest on this occasion.
Rabia Kabir of 10th class, Sahar Maqsood of 11th, Aabida Jabbar and Ghosia Jabeen both of 12th class besides many others participated in the symposium and told their fellow students how to save the earth and make the environment conducive for the life on earth.
Mohd Essaq Master, a member of the cultural committee of the school spoke on this occasion and highlighted the issues that are responsible for pollution.
The vice principal of the school Aamil Hussain told the students in detail what are the causes of environmental pollution and hazardous effects of dangerous gases emitting from various industries and mills. He asked the students carry this message to their homes and launch a campaign to involve every individual of the society to take part in the plantation drive for making our area clean and green.
The Chief Guest HDO Mendhar Mohammad Rafiq Chowdhary told the audience about various schemes of the department for the benefit of the masses. He said that last year, for the first time Horticulture department Zone Harni took a initiative for ultra HD apple plantation, which is a new hybrid technique and within one year we got amazed to see the high level of fruit production both quantity and quality wise .
He told that horticulture department wants to aware the people about the latest hybrid technologies related to orchards.
The principal of the school Zulfiqar Naqvi thanked the participants for taking keen interest in such programs. He told the students that we must play our pivotal role in curbing the agencies that disturb the ecological balance of the mother earth.
To wards the end the program the principal of the school and HDO Mendhar plated a fruit plant of Pecanut in the ordinary garden of the school.
