Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday arrested a woman from Rajasthan alleged of kidnapping a minor in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
“Police Station Khag received information that one lady who was begging in village Dalwash, Khag kidnapped a child age about 04 years namely (name withheld)”, reads a statement.
The lady, the statement reads, concealed the child under her scarf and some local women upon developing suspicion, informed police Station Khag.
“A police party of police station Khag rushed to the spot alongwith lady police personnel and recovered the kidnapped boy from the possession of non-local lady and arrested her on spot”, reads the statement.
“The accused lady has been subsequently identified as Chidi Devi wife of Khana Ram resident of Dhannasar, Hanumangarh Rajasthan.”
“A case FIR number 17/2023 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Khag and investigation taken up”, reads the statement.
“The boy has been handed over to his parents after medico legal formalities”, reads the statement further.
